Photonic Playground proudly presents a trio of Blizzard Entertainment artists: Tyson Murphy, David Luong, and Alvaro Buendia for the months of August and September 2015.
Tyson has been creating art professionally for about 6 years. His credits include Disney Interactive, Chair Entertainment, Harper Collins publishers, Jim Henson, and currently spends time pretending to be a Lead Artist on the World of Warcraft team at Blizzard Entertainment. His favorite color is red, and his favorite thing to draw are ogre babies.
World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Diablo III, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone are the video game franchises that David has had the honor of working on while at Blizzard for the past 8 years. He lends his skills in digital matte painting, lighting and compositing for the cinematics team. David showcased his art for the grand opening of his art gallery here at Photonic Playground a year ago and now makes a return to exhibit his photography from Europe, highlighting it’s natural landscape and cityscape beauty.
Currently working at Blizzard Entertainment's Anvil/Cinematic Department, Alvaro contributed to many of Blizzard's cutting edge cinematics, such as World of Warcraft's "Wrath of the Lich King", "Cataclysm", "Mists of Pandaria", “Warlords of Dreanor", Diablo III, StarCraft II and Overwatch as a character artist. He also worked on some 3D designs for the upcoming Warcraft film by Legendary. He previously worked at the Orphanage on feature film titles, and has taught creature design at Gnomon School of Visual effects.
