"THE ART OF LLIA YU AND KAM REDLAWSK"

Opening Show: August 4 | Normal Opening: September 1 | Closing Show: October 6 | 2018 | 7-10pm

This show will feature solo exhibitions of two wonderful artists featuring 15-20 art pieces each person.

Llia Yu is from from Nanjing, China, and graduated from Art Center College of Design. She mainly focuses on environment design, developing and building worlds from her imagination, and helping others explore their own worlds. She currently works at Blizzard Entertainment on the Overwatch team as an environment concept artist.

Adoptee Kam Redlawsk illustrates moments from her life; primarily thoughts on living with a rare progressive and debilitating muscle wasting disorder. Kam is an award-winning Industrial designer, artist, former columnist and advocate. Her body began debilitating at age 20 due to a very rare and degenerative muscle wasting disorder known as GNE Myopathy; a disorder that leads to complete quadriplegia. Out of the necessity to be understood she taught herself illustration to visually articulate her experience with a debilitating condition that doesn’t stop. She draws and blogs personal stories about her life in hopes it will resonate with those viewing them—the parts of life that sometimes hurt us, challenge us, frighten us, makes us laugh, makes us cry, makes us brave and even weak. She hopes you will follow her journey.
